The Uong Bi Thermal Power Plant was first constructed and went into operation in 1965, initially with a capacity of 48 MW. Over several stages of development and expansion, the plant's capacity has significantly increased. Currently, the Uong Bi Thermal Power Plant employs modern technology, including large-capacity units, to ensure efficient power production and minimize environmental impact. The plant plays a vital role in supplying electricity to northern Vietnam and the entire country. Additionally, it contributes to the economic development of Quang Ninh province, providing employment for thousands of local workers.
