A. Introduction:
- Song Bung 4 hydro power plant is located in Bung river, in Nam Giang district, Quang Nam province with 156 MW capacity and total investment of over 4,932 billions of VND with 196 millions of USD mobilized from Asia Development Bank. The Power Engineering Consulting Company No.1 (EVN) is design consultant, Sinohydrro Corporation Ltd. (China) is main contractor.
- Song Bung 4 hydro power project is classified as State key projects which is one of eights hydro power plants in Vu Gia – Thu Bon river system, having large capacity, good technical economic criteria and preferably constructed after A Vuong and Song Tranh 2 hydro power plants.
Unit 1 of Song Bung 4 hydro power plant is planned to be in operation in 2013 and the project is to be completed in 2014. The plant will supply 586.25 millions of kWh to the national grid every year and create a turn over of 450-500 billions of VND.
